What is read from YouTube

Oke-Box uses the visible current video title, video ID and playback position/duration to match and synchronize lyrics. It does not retrieve comments, descriptions, captions or internal player-response data, and does not call YouTube comment or caption endpoints. It changes the page layout to show a lyrics panel and optional video overlay.

Online lyrics

Song/artist search text is sent to LRCLIB over HTTPS. The provider receives ordinary network information such as IP address. Oke-Box requests omit cookies, identify Oke-Box and its creator URL, pace requests, cache results briefly and honor cooldown responses. Text pasted in the lyrics field is not uploaded; text entered into Search is sent to LRCLIB.

Local storage

Saved lyrics, chosen tracks, video IDs, timing offsets, pronunciation guides, preferences and provider cooldown state stay in this browser's extension storage. There is no device sync. Previously saved lyrics from older versions remain until the user clears them. Clear saved choice/guide through the relevant controls; removing the extension or clearing its data removes its local storage.

Pronunciation and microphone Beta

Japanese, Korean and Mandarin guides are generated locally with bundled resources. No pronunciation-service request is made. Microphone practice starts only with Start microphone and browser permission. Short audio buffers are processed in memory, not recorded as files, stored or uploaded. Scores are not saved. Stop, closing its controls or Sing along, hiding Oke-Box, changing video, hiding the tab and leaving the page stop capture. Browser permission can be revoked in site settings. This experiment does not identify singers or compare with the original voice.

Support and contact

The cassette button opens the extension's local About page. An optional link there opens the creator’s Ko-fi page only when clicked. There are no embedded donation/payment widgets. Oke-Box does not process payments or send lyrics/audio to Ko-fi. Activity on that site is governed by Ko-fi and its payment providers. Contact the creator through that page.

No Oke-Box accounts, analytics service, advertising SDK or developer-operated audio server are included. Oke-Box is independent of YouTube, Google and Opera.

Limited use

Oke-Box's use of user data adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide the lyrics and optional singing-practice features described here. It is not sold or used for advertising, creditworthiness or lending decisions. The developer does not receive your saved lyrics or microphone audio.

This website

This information site has no sign-up form, advertising widgets or analytics scripts added by Oke-Box. The hosting service receives the network information needed to deliver the page, such as your IP address and browser request information. External links take you to services with their own privacy practices.
